Description:This five (5) day course is designed to meet SCS1 certification requirements. After completion of this course, students will take written and skills tests. This course provides training in the subject elements required for the CA Urban Search & Rescue basic and light operations level; information for the recognition of unique hazards associated with building collapse or failure; working knowledge of the resources and procedures for performing search & rescue operations inside and beneath debris; and training in the procedures for performing victim extrication operations inside and beneath debris of light frame construction. Field training modules include building shoring, lifting and moving of heavy objects, and light frame construction breaching. A California State Fire Marshal certificate will be issued by State Fire Training (SFT) and can be accessed on your SFT profile. A maximum of 24 students, minimum of 20 students, are needed 14 days prior to the start date, or it will be canceled.
