Description: This course provides training in the subject elements required for the CA Urban Search & Rescue technician and specialist level; information for the recognition of unique hazards associated with building collapse or failure; working knowledge of the resources and procedures for performing search & rescue operations inside and beneath debris; and training in the procedures for performing victim extrication operations inside and beneath debris of heavy frame construction. Field training modules include building shoring, lifting and moving of heavy objects, heavy frame construction breaching, and crane operations. A California State Fire Marshal certificate will be issued by State Fire Training (SFT) and can be accessed on your SFT profile. A maximum of 24 students, a minimum of 20 students, are needed 14 days prior to the start date, or it will be canceled.
