Prerequisites: LARRO and Rescue Systems 1 or Rope Rescue Operations; and Confined Space Awareness; and IS100, IS200, IS700, IS800; SCS (FEMA, computer based training, 2017 or current edition, within 2 years of course registration)

Description:This five (5) day course is designed to meet SCS1 certification requirements. After completion of this course, students will take written and skills tests. This course provides training in the subject elements required for the CA Urban Search & Rescue basic and light operations level; information for the recognition of unique hazards associated with building collapse or failure; working knowledge of the resources and procedures for performing search & rescue operations inside and beneath debris; and training in the procedures for performing victim extrication operations inside and beneath debris of light frame construction. Field training modules include building shoring, lifting and moving of heavy objects, and light frame construction breaching. A California State Fire Marshal certificate will be issued by State Fire Training (SFT) and can be accessed on your SFT profile. A maximum of 24 students, minimum of 20 students, are needed 14 days prior to the start date, or it will be canceled.

Equipment Students Should Bring: 

Students MUST BRING the following Items to class:

  1. The following will be required to participate: Helmet for rescue work, gloves for breaking breaching and shoring, long sleeve shirt, long pants, rugged work boots/shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and personal water container.
  2. Please bring your State Fire Training ID #   to the first day of Class
